Speaker Bio:
Joseph J. Siemek, P.E. – Director of Public Works
Mr. Siemek is the Director of Public Works for Harford County, Maryland. He is responsible for planning, engineering, construction, operation and maintenance of County roads, bridges, water, sewer, solid waste, stormwater and office facilities, as well as construction management of all Capital Projects in Harford County.
Before his appointment as Director in 2016, Joe’s career spanned over 35 years in private consulting practice and government service, specializing in infrastructure and public works engineering and construction. He served on the County and Baltimore City Liaison Committees as well as the Board of Directors for ACEC-MD.
Mr. Siemek earned a Bachelor of Engineering Science degree from Johns Hopkins University; and he received a Masters in Business Administration from Loyola College.
He is a registered Professional Engineer in Maryland and Virginia, Past President of the County Engineers Association of Maryland, and Chairman of the Northeast Maryland Waste Disposal Authority.
